Overview
What is a family quest?
Family quests are monthly team goals for households with two or more active learners. Instead of competing against each other, everyone works together toward a shared target. When the whole family succeeds, every learner earns a special family badge.
Family quests are available on Family, Family+, and Household plans.What is a family quest?
Each calendar month, your household gets one family quest. Examples include:

Open Dashboard → Badges to see each learner’s contribution and how many days remain in the month.
Focus on consistency, not marathon sessions
Daily targets are per learning day, not one long session. Short, regular chats often work better than one big push at the end of the month.
Help a struggling learner
If one child is behind, encourage brief daily sessions rather than skipping days. Family quests require everyone to participate.
Turn on notifications
Enable Family quest completed under Settings → Notifications so you know when the team succeeds.
How family quests work
To complete a family quest, every active learner must:
- Hit minimum daily reasoning and spelling targets on learning days throughout the month, and
- Help the family reach a combined team score based on the number of children and their average age.
Progress tracking
- Progress appears on Dashboard → Badges for parents.
- Each child also sees family quest progress on their badge/challenge views.
- Day boundaries follow the child owner’s timezone (same as daily limits and chat logs).
- Every participating learner earns the month’s family badge on their belt.
- Parents may receive a Family quest completed email (if enabled in Settings → Notifications).
- Family, Family+, or Household plan on the child owner’s account
- At least 2 active learners on that parent’s dashboard
- Children you own (created on your account)
- Shared children linked to your account, when they appear on your Badges view
